Michael J. Duncan – President

Michael Duncan is a business leader and entrepreneur. With nine different businesses over the past forty years, Michael is pleased that two are still under his supervision and that of the other seven, five had various levels of success, one failed during the Great Recession, and one was an unmitigated financial disaster. Obviously, he learned a great deal from the latter two. His mantra focuses on people – every stakeholder.

He is a proud fifth generation soldier, a former US Army Air Defense officer. He completed his undergraduate education at George Mason University and his MBA at Averett. The aviation bug bit Mr. Duncan when he was a teenager and acquired his pilot’s license before completing his undergraduate studies. He continues to fly his personal aircraft on business and personal trips – everything east of the Mississippi to the Atlantic Ocean.

Michael has managed all aspects of for-profit and non-profit organizations over his career; including long stints on various boards serving in every capacity from member to treasurer to chairman. Most recently he completed over ten years on a regional airport commission.

Involved in the community, Mr. Duncan’s focus is in areas where his contributions can help young people gain an understanding and develop a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math. Major Duncan currently serves as a Group Commander and Senior Pilot for the USAF Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol. Michael also flies Young Eagles and Pilots & Paws missions.
